Similar to the Minimus the Rab Spark Jacket is made from Pertex with Pertex Shield + technology for a lot of waterproof protection but also has a Durable Water Repellent coating which makes water droplets bead and roll off the fabric and has Ripstop reinforcement threads to minimise damage from snags and tears. As it is relatively lightweight there is little insulation so is suited to warmer wet weather and allows for a great range of motion; plus the hood which is also helmet compatible gives four way movement for constant unrestricted vision. The ladies specific fit Jack Wolfskin Arroyo Jacket performs really well on a hiking trail due to its reliability and great function. It is very light, but quite durable at the same time as the outer fabric is made from Texapore 2L which is both windproof and waterproof with a column of 10,000 mm due to a non-porous membrane but is also breathable to let moisture escape from the inside so you stay quite dry throughout any active hike. The design is simple, yet stylish as the main focus are the features and function rather than an overly flashy design plus it has a nice smooth feel to it and even has a handy ultra light hood which is completely adjustable for a nice and comfortable fit along with a decent field of vision. The Arroyo also has two exterior pockets ideally placed for easy access and an internal chest pocket too for key items and maps. More Info
