  Stepping up the Pace

As you step up your pace, you’re really beginning to turn your walks into a workout. So you probably want to know how fast you’re walking. A rough rule of thumb is to count how many steps you take each minute. The following table calculates your speed based on three common stride lengths. To measure your stride length, walk 10 steps. Measure the distance, then divide by 10 the distance covered to arrive at your stride length.
